Happy Thanksgiving!

This was not Thanksgiving but, it was quite a fabulous meal with old and dear friends with the spirit of Thanksgiving while we were in France!

Here is my recipe for a perfect Thanksgiving day and dinner....

A gorgeous, very old farm house...... with fields to walk through before (or after) dinner......

How to build a Flip - Flop monkey

This is to compliment the previous post...such fun!

Guess what you can do with a Flip - Flop ?

Who would have thought? but, after Monday's spotting of inexpensive labor, I thought perhaps the artist of this wonderful sculpture should come to Phuket and create another in homage......

Created by artist Florentijn Hofman with a little help from some friends.....

Created in Sao Paulo specifically for thepixelshow conference - photos from the site of florentijn hofman

While you may have been slipping and sliding, a Phuket Monday

The north east coast where the mangroves grow integral to the island's eco system.

Inexpensive labor for coconut picking.

Where would you be?

There is a certain amount of expectations and fun involved in the first snowfall of the season. Many bloggers of late have written about the smell of snow in the air and the feel of a snowflake on the tongue.
Here in Thailand we miss this seasonal thrill but.................... this is yesterday in Vancouver.

This is yesterday way up north on the island at a fishing village on an inland riverway.

Dirty Pinks

I love that description... used recently in a post of fabulous fashions....this took me back yet again to Krakow's wonderful old architecture. Somehow the crumbly ones describe the tone best.

Sunday Smile - Thanksgiving Dinner

Via Urban Daddy and thinkgeek   You gotta smile!

Ths is the kind of thing as Canadians we say 'only in America'

A whole meal in three gumballs.

Thanksgiving dinner-y
Ah, Thanksgiving. A time to reflect on all the good things we have and be grateful for all the positive aspects of life. Normally it also involves meals and stuffing. We don't mean stuffing like what goes in the turkey - we mean stuffing our mouths so full of food our buttons pop off and our pants threaten to split at the seams. Well, why not enjoy all those great tastes, but without the destructive calorie gain and the need to see family members we'd rather forget about? Now you can, with Thanksgiving Dinner Gumballs!
Thanksgiving Dinner Gumballs come with three flavors inside each tin: Turkey, Cranberry Sauce, and Pumpkin Pie. Why, it's a full dinner! Seriously, why waste time with family? There are movies to see, things to do, um, other things to do. Just chew a few with your family and smile at each other. When the gum is done, so is your holiday familial commitment! YAY. Thanksgiving Dinner Gumballs - time to make the holidays all about you again.

Water, water everywhere water...

It's getting hotter here and the sky is bluer everyday as high season arrives in Phuket.
Just an idea I think would work here in the waterways in and around our island.

+31  an architectural firm in Holland just launched this fabulous house boat/villa onto a canal in Amsterdam. Studying their portfolio they are full of fabulous ideas for this type of living.
The warm clear waters surrounding Phuket would surely add a fabulous dimension
to the idea. The concept really would be so much fun to try in a secluded bay or inland waterway!
