This conversion is one of my favorites, I really could just move in.....what's stopping me?
Ummm well it is priced at 1.2 million euros and I'd really prefer a white kitchen hehehe!

Described as a Palace on the Seine....loving the stairs.

The dining area at Wheelhouse level is ohh.... soo..... French in spirit.

Lots of potential here.

Lots of light  seems to be the key.

This illustrates the volume of most holds - an open plan is the best way to maximize the space.

Bright and airy but this  deck expansion may make it hard to pass under some bridges.

So this would be the fantasy......

Sunday Smile - Laugh again!

Darling daughter #1 thought 'over fifty Barbie' disturbing here is a Sunday smile in her line of work!

Fab over Fifty Holiday Smile

Some days do you just feel like being 'fabulous and over fifty' is hard work and wouldn't it be fun to just be a fat Barbie letting yourself go completely, indulging in fast food, lying in bed surfing the web in a really horrific design with bad colours and very bad furniture........... just kinda fun for a moment!

It is Starting to Look Like Christmas......

When we moved to Phuket ten years ago the Western style of Christian decorating was very minimal. Most people who came to vacation at Christmas were happily escaping the cold and the hub bub and commercialization of a Western Christmas.
Thailand is basically  a Buddhist country so Christmas Day was like any other day of the week here. In fact, our first Christmas here we had no kitchen and had to put the workmen off  from working through Christmas day. Things of course have changed over the years and Thai's generally love the idea of any kind of festival so we now have Christmas and New Years along with  Chinese New Year and then finally  winding up with Thai New Year which is called Songkran. This is a week long celebration most akin to our Christmas, as most everyone heads home to the country to family. This list of holidays means we are pretty well celebrating from now till April with decorating of some sort or another!

The Thai's traditional fancy dress and their love of gold may give a little indication of why they enjoy
adopting some of our Western celebrations.  Below is darling daughter number 3 dressed as the Queen of Loi Kratong, there seems to be a resemblance in style to our Christmas tree 'dressing' of the same era.  The tree design, and parcel wrapping in this picture has a strong resemblance in colour scheme to the up coming Chinese New Year! Globalization?

Winnie Lui a jewelery designer from Hong Kong (technically not quite the Tropics but, close to us with 4 hr. direct flights) has really stepped up the chandelier anti here!

Contrast  below with the evil black model. But, it could be very good in some of those fabulous new black rooms....

Changing Styles - Same Same but Different

It is very interesting to let go and see what some one else does with  a space you have designed. If it is generally well designed it should hold another's ideas and preferences, I think Plot 2 at The Oasis is an interesting example of two family's tastes.
