The Swan Pharmacy in Alesund, Norway

Reacting to the academic style of art and architecture prevalent in the 19th century, the Art Noveau movement was developed in the 1890's as a philosophy of design based on forms of nature
and encompassed everything from the exterior to the interior of a building's furnishings.

The building with the flat of the pharmacist above the Swan pharmacy in Alesund is a particularly well preserved example and reflects the philosophy of the movement completely.
