Norway's Amazing Sculptor - Gustav Vigeland

Vigeland Park in Oslo....... a wonderful discovery!

Rarely recognized outside of Norway, Gustav Virgeland was himself well travelled having studied in Berlin, Florence, Rome and Paris, even spending time in the studio of Rodin. This stunning parkland and museum created by Vigeland and the city of Oslo is one man's amazing design and vision. In exchange for the donation of all his work the city of Oslo built Vigeland a studio and living quarters which after his death was to become a museum.

In turn monumental, enchanting, charming, even depressing, the work of Vigeland moves the viewer through the cycles of human life. Today the park and museum is enjoyed by over two million visitors a year.
