Pretty Paper Parasoles - Offerings to Buddha






































Parasols are used as offerings to ask Buddha for shelter from the elements.

Beautiful photos. Is the top one in Bagan? I've only been to Rangoon, and would love to go back to Burma again, but it's becoming so "in vogue" that the prices to do so have shot up, unfortunately. Was recently watching "The Lady", which is rather good, and I can recommend, if you haven't seen it.

Thank you for reading and of course taking the time to comment. The Lady is well worth the time for some reason managed to catch it on True Visions this summer.
The first picture is in Rangoon/Yangon. Although prices are higher services are better and it is still a very reasonable place to visit.

Sorry, I got my picture order mixed up - I meant the picture of the back of the giant Buddha..is that in Bagan?

Not at home at the moment to check exact location.
I think it is on The Chindwin River not Bagan.
