Renovating - Before and Afters

Sometimes wondering if all the trouble of renovating is worth it or do I just like change?

After building our home near school here in Phuket, we built 6 more smaller versions for friends and family in a small development called The Oasis. After painting all walls inside and out white in the second development when we renovated the first home here in Phuket  I needed a change and opted for white on the exterior only. The house interiors now would have colour with generally all white furnishings.

The renovation was started to mainly to open the house to the front yard and create a more formal less open plan then we had had before as the children were gone and we now could entertain with staff more often. We now have a much better spot to suntan and view sunsets. Extra privacy has also been created as we now have to gates before we enter the main house area. Sometimes though I do miss the original tropical open kitchen, living, dining areas - they were really big, open, lovely and casual. The new front is fabulous and quite wonderful for entertaining. I guess as always there has to be compromise.
