Restoration in Phuket City - Ngorkakee

 Phuket City is  busy working very hard on the restoration of its heart and soul.

The overhead wires  are gradually being put underground and one of the prettiest aspects of the

      old Sino Portuguese shophouse architecture is the Ngorkakee or covered walkways providing 

shade and cover from inclement weather. They are being gradually restored to their former glory.

Can you imagine how wonderful old town will look!

A worker chips away at a breeze block wall obstructing the ngorkakee – Chinese style arcade – on Phuket's Thalang Road. This wall was constructed especially for the opening ceremony of the Ngorkakee project.
