A Real Sunday Smile!

Here is a just discovered blog that is too great, it makes one really smile, I hope the stylists don't take it too seriously but, really this blogger has a point! Do go and read all the posts they are very funny indeed. Catalogue Living. Thank you! I can't wait for Christmas catalogues...

A few of my favorites...

'Hon, where’s my string of old-timey buoys?  Oh wait, I found them.  Hey, lobsters and limes for dinner AGAIN???'

I’d invite you in, but Gary and I got in a bit of a fight after he had one too many bottled waters.  He stormed out of the room so fast he only partially pushed in his chair!  And I was right in the middle of my yellow book…

Elaine wasn’t about to let some hot flashes get in the way of balancing the checkbook with the abacus.

Oh that?  That’s my Wish Plant.  It’s where I clip pictures of people who I want dead.

Gary and I have slept in separate beds for years, but last night he left me a tied-up stack of books on my foot-of-bed-bench.  I think he’s in the mood.

Tropical Greens

Greens are everywhere in our tropical life, so perhaps that is why it is rare to see them used inside our homes other than as an accent...or is green just not me...I must confess I have never used green in any home I have lived in and I can not think of using it in any client's home ummmmmmm?

Phuket Blues

Blue seems to be a prevalent colour here in Phuket.... maybe it is being surrounded by the sea .... or

maybe I just like blue... cool, calm, it settles the soul. It can be reflective and soothing.

New Look for A Very Familiar Face

Finally Starbucks is changing the look...I do think it really is way more in keeping with their image!
It rather reminds me of 'Meryl's'( sorry I can't remember her character's name) bakery/cafe in
It's Complicated. Certainly more reflective of our lives and times now then the past rather dated looking design. I hope they change things right across all the stores with more regional emphasis on the recycling materials used. It would be so nice if each store had a character more reflective of the region they were located in.

Phuket Colours Translated

Reading through blogland today and the incredibly talented Ann of Rose et Lis had the most fabulous post on rough walls. Many of the colours in the last amazing room she posted with antique chinese wallpaper just struck a chord. The first two images were also posted today. The exciting bedroom combining the orange and pink is from the fabulous design studio of Caldwell Flake (check out their wonderful portfolio of work) but, the magazine shot is via? These interiors just seemed to reflect the colours we have naturally around us here in Phuket.

There is a small restaurant high in the Layan hills of Phuket that looks to the Andamen Sea you park and then take golf carts up as the little soi is very steep with no turnaround at the top. You climb a set of stairs and then the view unfolds 360 degrees. This is a spot for what is affectionately know as a sundowner here on the island. Here is why.....
